A sold-out celebration of climate communications done right—fun, fearless, and full of heart.

Hosted during Toronto’s first ever Climate Week, Communicating Climate with Confidence was a high-energy, best-in-class event designed to inspire, equip, and connect climate communicators across Canada. From the first brainstorm to the final playlist, every detail was curated to spark joy, build skills, and elevate the climate conversation.

"CONGRATS on a fantastic event! You brought together an incredible room of people and the vibes were off the charts.”

What We Did?

What We Did

  • Curated every detail from speaker selection and outreach to venue, food, AV, and sustainable swag
  • Promoted across social media channels with a steady stream of engaging posts, videos, and speaker spotlights
  • Collaborated with Toronto Climate Week and aligned organizations to amplify reach
  • Created a vibe where volunteers introduced speakers, a crowd-sourced playlist kept the energy high, and swag from etee, More Than Lips, and Good Juju added a sustainable sparkle
  • Partnered with local communications students to create shareable social content live from the event

What We Learned?

The room was electric — and the insights powerful:

  • Facts alone don’t work – stories that inspire are more effective
  • Skip the fear – focus on solutions and actions people can take
  • Amplify trusted voices — credible messengers build community trust
  • Make it fun — connect climate solutions to everyday life and values
  • Segment your audience — tailor messages to levels of concern and barriers
  • Sniff out greenwashing — back up your claims and celebrate honest action

What Made It So Special?

This wasn’t just another climate event—it was a celebration of creativity, community, and confidence. Attendees left re-energized, reconnected, equipped, and ready to level up their climate communications game.  Some favorite takeaways:

  • “When it dies, electrify.” A sticky phrase worth repeating.
  • Greenwashing sucks. Substantiate your claims and embrace progress over perfection.
  • Your neighbours want climate action. Lead by example. Start talking—without judgment.
  • Team up and tee it up. Share stories from farmers, schools, churches, and small businesses and amplify it any way you can.
  • Bring the fun. Climate comms can be joyful, even when the stakes are high.
  • Make space for everyone. Climate action is a human thing.
  • Stay Open. Stay curious. Keep learning, sharing, and growing. And talk to strangers!

“Joining in the chorus of appreciation — great event, fantastic speakers, people were buzzing!”
